Lets stock your closet this winter with pieces that will not only add to your closet but also allow you to take experiments in aesthetics you have wanted to dabble in. Curating your closet with pieces that are authentic to you and provide versatility is the only way to create a wide range of outfits using the same pieces
Cargo Pants:
Cargo Pants are the epitome of versatility. Initially designed for war time, cargo pants have become a staple in both the gorp core and street-wear communities. With a color palette ranging traditionally in greens and beige's cargo pants can be dressed up or down for any winter look. Add a pair of sneakers and a long black coat and you're ready for a day running errands or add a slight heel and you can head into your day at the house.
Pleated Skirt:
Maxi or mini pleated skirts will add the perfect touch to a simple outfit as well as bring range to your closest. You could play up coquette style and accessorize with bows and pinks or go the traditional academic prep school route. My personal favorite is to add the skirt on top of a pair of pants with a jacket and some boots, for those days when it's cold and I want to add dimension to an outfit.=
Dad Shoes
I know this one is jarring at first but hear me out on this one. As someone who needs arch support these shoes are my secret weapon for the season. Comfortable to walk in and if you manage to thrift a pair you can find an unexpected colorway. In the winter months I prefer to style mine with blazers or suit pants with chunky jewelry or a soldier bag. They are versatile in nature because dad shoes have the ability to provide arch support making them suitable for outdoors activities and that gorp core aesthetic.
Long Black Coat
Move over Little Black Dress(LBD) the Long Black Coat(LBC) is one of the most wearable outerwear items of the season. Though being one of the trends coming directly off the runway, you can still find a way to make this your own accessorizing. It’s warm, comfortable, and chic creating a powerful look without having to dedicate much effort.
