Stories are powerful.
The human brain is wired to receive messages using stories. Some say this predates the written word by many thousands of years. Whatever the underlying reason, we connect with stories and we remember them.
Like that bedtime story, you'd badger your mom to tell you over and over or that movie that never fails to give you a laugh or the novel that made you ugly cry because it was so relatable.
Stories entertain us. Move us. And as it turns out, stories also sell.
I’ll give you an example of "storyselling."
"On a beautiful day, five years ago, two men in their forties each started a new business. Both were in the same city, both had the same level of talent and both were filled with entrepreneurial drive and had big dreams.
Recently these men met up at a business networking event. Both were happily married. Both had two children. And both as it turned out were working in the same industry, selling the exact same product.
But there was a difference. One of the men had built a high-growth business that had taken a large chunk of market share and was funding an amazing lifestyle for him and his family. The other was barely scraping by and only just keeping his head above water.
What made the difference? The first man purchased The 1-Page Marketing Plan Course and prioritized mastering the science of marketing his business. The second man focused on learning via trial end error with no help or guidance."
Isn't that far more powerful than if I had just said: "grab The 1-Page Marketing Plan Course because it's awesome" (which by the way it is 😉) and then proceeded to tell you a bunch of dry facts?
Facts tell, but stories sell.
Storyselling holds a reader's attention, evokes emotions, and adds context to the narrative.
Which explains why prospects would rather read customer reviews than a bunch of features and benefits.
You don't need to be a creative writer to do this. You can simply talk about how your product was made, its origin, or how it can change your prospect's life.
The best stories are clear and easy to understand. I'd love to hear yours.
Dedicated to your success,
