Marriott International’s Female Leadership Initiative (FLI) was first established in 1999, and focuses on boosting women at executive and decision-making positions within the organisation through a bespoke leadership development, networking and mentoring programme. The American multinational hospitality firm, founded in 1927 by J. Willard and his wife Alice Marriott, operates and franchises hotels, holiday resorts and residential properties across the world.
Marriott International has reinforced its dedication to developing the next generation of female leaders in Egypt by launching its FLI in the north African country.
The initiative aims to train future women leaders by helping them identify and establish their key strengths as well as influence and drive impact to help them prepare for the next level of their careers. As part of the ongoing training, participants will create a personalised development plan with the help of a dedicated mentor. They will also have access to online courses at Cornell University (eCornell), networking opportunities, hear from guest speakers and hold discussions.
Francisca Martinez, chief human resources officer EMEA at Marriott International, said: “Marriott remains committed to championing the advancement of women and increasing the presence of women leaders at all levels in the organisation.” She added the company was “excited” to launch the programme in Egypt and “advancing the next generation” of women leaders.
