When I told my family that I had picked India as the destination for my college exchange program, my family members called my mom and pleaded her to reason with me.
« Why India? »
Foodie interest aside, I always had this inkling that India and the African continent had a lot in common. Studying Hindi and in college and learning more about the economics and history of India confirmed it.
What school didn’t teach me though was how close and similar Indian and African cultures were. At last, someone has made it her mission to show this similarity through movies !
Hamisha Daryani Ahuja is the brilliant mind who did it (of course, a woman !). She leads Forever 7 Entertainment, the company which brought Namaste Wahala to the screen. The film is the perfect romantic comedy for any Bollywood, Nollywood lover and Hamisha has more in store for us in this regard !
You can watch this interview of Hamisha with Ibrahim Sagna, the host of the Silverbacks Valley podcast that I am proud to produce.
