As an Arsenal East African, Rwanda is one of my favorite trips on my travel board. Rwanda is such a beautiful country with a fantastic landscape. I also respect the amount of healing work that the people and the government have done and continue to do to heal from the tragic genocide past. A case study needs to be made on that healing work.
I want to think of Rwanda as the Japan of Africa, with its dedication to the plastic ban. Travelers arriving in Rwanda have to surrender plastic bags at the airport.
Rwandans participate in Umuganda on the last Saturday of every month. This community service event involves citizens coming together to clean public spaces, repair roads, and work on local infrastructure projects. Community service and brunch with the squad sounds like a plan.
I look forward to seeing the beauty that Africa has to offer. It would be cool to visit Rwanda the same year that Arsenal wins the trophy. If you can afford to travel, check out Shalom Safaris Rwanda.
Otherwise, a 30-day stay visa is $50 for non-East Africans.
