Tiwa Savage celebrated her collaboration with M.A.C Cosmetics as the brand’s first MAC Maker and the launch of her limited edition matte bright red lipstick that she designed herself. In an intimate setting at Kaly Restaurant in Lagos, Nigeria, guests included the star’s friends, press, makeup artists and socialites.
In a recent post on Instagram where she reveals being on Schick Magazine’s latest fashion issue cover, Tiwa says, “The red shade I created is expressive, powerful, courageous, strong, classy and sexy — all the things that we as African women are and more!”
MAC Maker is a collection of lipsticks made by eight global talents. Each talent works closely with the M.A.C Artists and Product Development team to produce an inspiring product that embodies their taste and signature style.
To be chosen as a MAC Maker, you have to be someone who combines their passions for music, comedy, dancing, and other artistic endeavours to create their work.
Tiwa made history as the first MAC Maker in Africa. Giving her speech at the event, she said, “No other continent represents all shades and as Black women, we consume cosmetics, especially M.A.C, so much. So for me, it’s not just about being a MAC Maker, it’s about opening doors. This is the beginning. I want this to do so well so we can have other MAC Makers out of Africa. Not just myself.”
Packaged in a sunset gradient box with a sketched silhouette accent, designed and signed by Tiwa, the limited edition lipstick is available to shop online and in stores.
