Beyoncé performed for the first time in four years at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal Resort in Dubai. The hour-long concert, in which The Queen B was paid approximately $24 million, was hosted outdoors and in attendance were celebrities from across the globe.
Although phones were prohibited during the show, and audiences were asked to store their phones in locked pouches, some went against the rules and sneaked pictures and footage from the event. This was much to the delight of many, with singer Lizzo admitting to having enjoyed a barred Instagram live stream. “I have seen Beyoncé perform live 10 times in my lifetime… and today the 11th time was on an IG live across a body of water of a hotel and I’m not ashamed,” she tweeted.
Amongst the star-studded guestlist were Thando Thabethe, Maps Maponyane, Letitia Wright and Rich Mnisi, to name but a few. Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, mom, Tina Knowles, husband, Jay-Z and children, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir Carter, whom she all paid tribute to during her performance, were also in attendance.
The dress code for the night was formal wear. Read on as we take a quick recap of how our stars interpreted this theme.
Thando Thabethe
The “How to Ruin Christmas” star wore a sequined jumpsuit with a packed chiffon ruffle top. Posting her images alongside Beyoncé’s, whose one outfit was a shimmery pink and silver, Thabethe highlights how she was right on cue with her outfit for the evening.
Letitia Wright
The Guyanese-British actress impressed with a sweet pink floor length dress that had diamante straps. Wright kept her look minimalistic with a few subtle ear accessories and a mini sling. It appears pink was the order of the day.
Rich Mnisi
The celebrity designer opted for a monochrome lace detailed two-piece ensemble. Mnisi, who’s dressed not only Beyoncé, but Ciara, Naomi Campbell, and Imaan Hammam too, is not new to making moves amongst international stars.
Maps Maponyane
South African actor, presenter and entrepreneur, Maps Maponyane, looked dashing in a cerulean blue double-breasted suit paired with white sneakers and a matching fedora hat decorated in an African pattern.
