Pistis 

Husband and wife, Kabutey and Sumaiya Dzietror, are the driving forces behind the Ghanaian fashion house, Pistis. The latter serves as the head of operations for their brand and Sumaiya is the official creative director. The brand specializes in traditional wedding dresses and white wedding gowns as well as custom outfits.

“He likes fashion, I like fashion but he’s more in the business side of it, I like the art”, said Sumaiya in a video titled, The Pistis Story. 

Together, the couple have been working on their brand for 15 years to make it the household name that it is today. From creating outfits for one of Ghana’s famous pageants, Miss Malaika, to revolutionising the infamous Akan kente cloth by setting the beading trend, Pistis is constantly surpassing the Ghanaian barrier of mediocrity and creating luxury goods that are labelled quality by international standards while utilising creativity and local talent. The brand gives back to society by covering the hospital bills of children with parents who can’t afford to pay the hefty bills. It is one of the few pinnacles of Ghanaian excellence.
