A celebration of music artists often gets left for when they pass on or when something tragic happens, which forces us to look back at their past achievements and wonder what could have been. Most of the time, by then, it would have been too late.
However, in November 2024, DISCOVR found a way to celebrate artists while they are still here. Creating a space where their legacy can be experienced by fans in real-time – no longer waiting for that day when the artists themselves can no longer see the benefits of their labour.
DISCOVR is revolutionizing the way in which sponsorships are done. They encourage brands to practice more conscious engagement through media and events. This includes screenings to workshops that look to transform ideas into action. In short, DISCOVR looks to foster authentic, long-lasting relationships that can be measured by social impact.
The first artist who was powered by DISCOVR was none other than global star Asake. In collaboration with the Lungu to Space Concert Film Experience, they hosted an unforgettable night at the Cinema at Selfridges in London – on the 27th of November 2024.
As the evening was all about Asake – who is a 3-time Grammy-nominated artist. His work, as many may know, has redefined the boundaries of Afrobeats and music on a global stage. Guests who attended had the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive viewing of behind-the-scenes highlights of the Lungu Boy Tour, a DJ set, curated drinks, and the highlight of the evening – the highly anticipated Lungu to Space concert film.
The Lungu to Space film captures Asake’s hard work and dedication to his craft, which has led to success not just on the African continent but globally. The event itself was a perfect celebration and showed the power of creativity and collaboration.
“Working alongside Asake’s team to bring this vision to life has been nothing short of inspiring,” said Devonte, DISCOVR’s founder and CEO. “This moment celebrates not only Asake’s incredible journey but also the power of thoughtful partnerships to shape cultural narratives. As we look ahead to 2025, this is just a glimpse of the innovative work DISCOVR has in store.”
