The past 9 weeks, immersed in the Acting for Screen Online Course at EbonyLife Creative Academy (ELCA), has been a life-changing experience for me. Learning essential skills like character development, understanding character fulfillment, mastering the process of shooting a scene, and gaining access to a wealth of resources during this course, I feel empowered to refine my craft, equipped with knowledge that broadens my perspective on acting as both an art and a profession.  
This journey would not be as impactful without Drikus, our incredible acting coach, whose patience, constructive reviews, and thoughtful advice encourage me to push my boundaries. I am also grateful to Molly, our class supervisor, who ensures we stay on track while fostering an environment of encouragement and collaboration.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the program is my mentorship pairing. I am privileged to be matched with Chiemeli, an insightful mentor who breaks down complex concepts into relatable terms, making each lesson deeply resonate. Her guidance is invaluable, and I am thrilled about the opportunity to meet her in person this week as we prepare for our first scene together—a moment I am eagerly anticipating.  
Lastly, I must extend gratitude to my 15 classmates, whom I'm equally very excited to finally meet. Together, we form a community of passionate learners, united by our drive to grow and create. Being part of this intake is both a privilege and an inspiration.  
As this phase unfolds, I carry with me invaluable lessons, connections, and the excitement of applying what I am learning in future projects. The journey has only just begun!
