In celebration of Africa Day, AMAKA welcomes Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade for an evening of music and intimate conversations in London.
The event is set to take place at 7pm on 26th May 2022.
AMAKA Editor-in-Chief Ivie Ani took to Instagram to announce the event, saying, “Catch my live @amaka.studio interview and fireside chat with the amazing @yemialade before an intimate performance, and an afterparty with a roster of women on the DJ lineup.”

Multi-talented Alade is a singer, actress and activist who rose to fame in 2014 with her hit single “Johnny”.
She has since established herself with five studio albums to her name and an impressive list of international awards and nominations; Alade is considered one of Africa’s most successful musicians and holds the record for the most viewed music video by an African woman.
In her role as United Nations Development Programme Ambassador, she has been advocating for the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals and against gender-based violence.
The annual commemoration of Africa Day marks the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) on 25th May 1963, the predecessor of the African Union (AU).
Africa Day is meant to celebrate the socio-economic achievements of the continent, with this year’s theme focusing on “Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent”.
