The Paris Fashion Week SS25 started with drizzling; perhaps that was our sign of the fantastic designs that would walk the stage. Every year during fashion week, designers showcase their latest collections to promote their brand and highlight their creativity. The fashion week is also an opportunity for all to see the latest trends and styles in the fashion world.
This season some design houses explored a new style while others focused on exploring their top-notch formulas. They used the runway to showcase their collections for the upcoming season.
In this piece, we’ll look at the most striking looks: key moments and some brand showcases.
Most Striking Looks

One of the standout looks came from Saint Laurent. Bella Hadid made her significant return on the runway in a fluid double-breasted suit jacket with matching pants. The look was fresh with its ultra-relaxed feel, and its fluidity created a sense of elegance.
Equally captivating was Olivier Rousteing's spring/summer collection for Balmain, which focused on the beauty of the body.

The surrealist dress with 3D faces pleated and intricate hundreds of thousands of beads stole the show. The look was simply the dress, as captivating as expected of a Balmain creation.
Finally on our list is Courrèges daring look, which showcased minimalistic elegance with clean-cut lines and a neutral palette. The model walked in a minimalist dream, which was a simple yet bold asymmetrical dress and wedge-style mules in the same neutral hue. The small matching white clutch completes the striking edge look.

These striking looks highlighted the creativity and style the Paris Fashion Week is known for.
Key Moment
The looks from Dries Van Noten were one everyone was watching out for. With its founder no longer at its helm, the team had to create its collection differently.
The house, however, presented looks in lavish fabrics to, in a way, showcase the optimism and the wearability of their collection, which is a good message in this time of transition.

It was a powerful reminder of how fashion is an excellent platform for storytelling. There is so much message we can convey with clothes.
Brand Showcase
Mugler
Mugler stole the show with its stand-out apocalyptic collection. The collection was eerie, dark, and sinister. Each look was an inspiration from Thierry Mugler’s expansive archive. Mugler’s works of art resurfaced in bedazzled textiles and intricate fabric textures. The label turned the classics into something futuristic.

Rick Owens
Rick Owens' SS25 collection was filled with oversized dark looks paired with the House’s signature boots. Most looks rejected traditional tailoring and created their language of fashion. The focus on some of these pieces was simply form and impact with their bold shapes and experimental proportions.

Overall, this collection aimed to challenge the conventional norm of fabric, size, and form, but essentially an accurate display of when fashion meets architecture and art.
Louis Vuitton
Nicolas Ghesquière took us on a journey through time with Louis Vuitton’s SS25 collection. The collection was a merger between the elegance of the Renaissance time and modern aesthetics. In the opening looks, Ghesquière made a bold entrance with 80-inspired prints, pumped-up volumes, and embroidered detailing. Also, layered draperies, architectural shapes, and asymmetrical designs created an interplay of opposites.

He unfurled an ethereal medley, nodding to fantastical shifts in time.
