THE TRAUMA
I and my hubby were invited for a wedding, it was a talk of the town rich man wedding in the village near by and we had to lodge/make a stop at my parent’s house just for the occasion all the way from city which lasted for just 3 days.
On the day of the occasion, my dad decided to have a quick conversation with me even while my hubby was around...the reason best known to him (but feels comfortable talking to me any time of his choice) probably he felt since I am around and as a matter of fact, need to address the issue.
Evan! Evangel!! …in my father’s voice.
I wonder what it is this time around.
Yes father! Coming father…. I rushed out of my room with my beautiful makeover, eye lashes and little touch of foundation on my face, at my hand is the mirror and makeup kits; wondering what it could be this time around as I am always curious whenever he calls me in that manner.
I moved faster heading over to the main sitting room where my father was…behold the handsome dude, my prince charming husband having final touch on his glam outfit this time as I walked by held my hands: where to? And I answered….to see my dad.
Dude: What for?
Me: No idea
Dude: Okay
Yes father! I answered.
Father: Sit
Father: How sure are you about your man? Is he trustworthy regarding your marriage? And hope there’s no sense of infidelity in your union?
Me: Yes Dad! (With my rhetoric facial look and heavy breath) At this point I had already known where he is heading to; Immediately, I had a flashed back of what transpired between I and my dude’s best friend few months after our wedding. How on earth did, I allowed him get over me.
I found myself constantly pondering over it: “How could I do this”
Father: Did he trust you too?
Me: Yes father!
My Dad kept staring at me.
Father why all the question? Hope there’s no problem?
Father: Uzoma had confided in me about what really transpired between you and your husband’s best friend, “about your infidelity” and I wouldn’t want such to repeat itself.
Me: Yes father, it won’t happen again.
Would I ever get this out of my memory? I asked myself.
At this time, I had to leave to meet with my Dude just not to miss the reason for our home visitation.
To be continued….!
