If you are a feminist , you have probably been told this or something along the lines of, "it's not always that deep", "stop making everything about gender/race", "women do have rights, what more do you want?"

Well, I want to wake up to different headlines that read something more positive and not the usual "Boyfriend killed Girlfriend"  headline on the day's article. I want to stop hearing phrases such as " female engineer, female doctor, female scientist," etc. I want to wear whatever I want  without overthinking if I am dressed like "I am asking for it", I want to have my own life aspirations that do not have to involve having a husband and kids. I want to be the decider of my own fate and not be limited to one kind of life just because "that is how it is meant to be". Not my life, I choose not to succumb to the patriarchy. 

It is truly terrifying and exhausting to hear the stories and experiences of women's injustices around the world, and being a feminist, advocating for justice and equality for women  should not be "annoying" and if it is, then that  is what it is but remember that to the privileged, equality seems like oppression, which is not meant to because the patriarchy adversely affects us all on different scales. 

As an outspoken person on matters like this, I usually get labelled as the "political chick" and i do not make small talk light at all. With me it is always, Until we are all truly equal, then everything is about race/gender because that is what I stand for and the best advice I have heard is that, " The best thing you can do, is be yourself". I do not know if this resonates with anyone but you are not being annoying for taking a stand for what you believe in. Always be the change you want to see....
