In light of World Kindness Day earlier this week, we invite AMAKA Creators to share a written piece about their views and thoughts on the concept of kindness. What does it really mean to be kind in modern society?
As much as sometimes and particularly with social media it can feel like a very individualistic and isolated world, we want to spotlight the power of community and charity, and how there are so many individuals and groups helping to make the world a kinder and better place for us all.
Suggested topics/ideas:
- Have you performed an extraordinary act of kindness? Or has someone done that for you?
- Are you part of a support group, social group, friendship group or charity that has supported you whether it is through education, emotional/wellbeing support or helped you make new friends/bonds?
- What apps/digital spaces have you used that have created a sense of community, belonging and friendship?
- What charities or NGOs are doing extraordinary acts of kindness to support people on the continent and diaspora?
- Who in the public eye or what influencers do you follow that have done extraordinary acts of kindness? Why do they inspire you?
Please keep your pitches to 200 words. Unfortunately, anything longer won’t be accepted.
Deadline: Thursday, November 30th
