Renowned actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae has been announced as a keynote speaker at this year's Black Tech Week, scheduled to hold between July 18 and 20, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America.
Rae will be speaking alongside six other keynote speakers, including Candice Matthews Brackeen, the Chief Executive Officer of Lightship Foundation; Aisha Bowe, CEO of STEMBoard and Brian Brackeen, the General Partner at Lightship Capital.
Others are Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter; Detavio Samuels, CEO of REVOLT and Felecia Hatcher, the CEO of Black Ambition Opportunity Fund.
Black Tech Week is an annual conference that drives innovation, connection, and collaboration within the Black tech community. This year’s theme focuses on equity within the tech space.
In a post on Twitter, Black Tech Week says Rae is headed to the BTW to share her energy, experiences and insights.
The highly anticipated event, which celebrates and supports Black excellence in technology and entrepreneurship, will provide a platform for the keynote speakers and participants to share their insights and experiences.
Describing Rae as a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, Brackeen of Lightship Foundation says the writer is committed to supporting and amplifying Black and female voices across the globe.
She says, "We're looking forward to hosting Issa Rae as our keynote speaker for Black Tech Week 2023.
