Everyone has a story to tell, and at AMAKA, we are committed to providing spaces for them to be heard and encouraged.
In line with that, we have created AMAKA 2.0, a creator platform where Pan-African Gen-Z & Millennial creators can create, share, and monetise their stories for a global audience.
We understand that starting any journey can be daunting at first, so we have highlighted some crucial steps to help you make the most out of AMAKA 2.0.
Become an AMAKA 2.0 Creator
The first step is creating your account or login in if you already have one. You will need to set up your profile with a bio and profile photo for your audience to get a sense of who you are and your interests. Once that is all setup, you're good to go.
Brainstorm and Create Content Ideas
Though it sounds cliche, it is helpful to figure out what you want to say and how you want to say it before you say it. Our lived experiences are great resources for sparking creativity. Did you come across a recipe on YouTube that you ended up trying? What were your thoughts on it? Did you travel to a new city and discover new beauty trends? Did you wonder what the differences are between using a toothbrush and a chewing stick while brushing your teeth this morning? You can write about anything. The best stories are often the ones that come naturally to you.
Plan your content
A regular schedule helps keep you accountable and lets your audience know when to expect your content. You can post content every day, weekly, monthly or however often you choose. The primary goal should be consistency. Keeping a planner and utilising content organising tools is a step forward.
Identify and Find your Audience
It is crucial to understand who falls within your target audience. For example, if your content centres on African folklore and lullabies, your target audience will typically be parents and grandparents. To best serve your target audience, you will need to seek answers to questions such as; What type of content typically gets their attention? How old are they? How much time do they spend online? AMAKA 2.0 offers analytics and insights technology to help with this.
Share and Market your Content
Once you have created your content and identified its target audience, the next step is to share it. The easiest and most popular way to do so is digitally across social media platforms. With a social media presence, you can genre attention towards your work. This can be done via Twitter, FaceBook, Instagram, TikTok, discord etc, depending on who the target audience is.
