Nigerian artist, Lola Mewu, has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon.

Mewu surpassed the the previous record of 60 hours set by Belgian-Canadian artist Roland Palmaerts in 2013 with a a stellar 82 hours. The artist embarked on this mission on October 28, 2023, at the Safe House in Adeola Hopewell Street, Eti-Osa, Lagos.

Mewu created pieces such as "One Touch,” “Pemi Pada Owonromi,” and “Ejire Ara Isokun.” which were were auctioned and sold, with enthusiastic bidding from art lovers, starting at ₦40,000.

The achievement, once confirmed, would mark her as the third Guinness World Record holder from Nigeria in 2023,
